Athletic Boosters Plan “Takeover Night” at Buffalo Wild Wings April 27
The Glenwood Athletic Boosters are planning a fundraiser at Buffalo Wild Wings on April 27th.  Present a ticket from the attached flyer and Buffalo Wild Wings® will donate 15% of all pre-taxed food sales, for dine-in and carry-out orders, to the Athletic Boosters. Guests must present a ticket in order for their food purchase to count towards our donation to the boosters. One check per ticket. For example, if a family of four pays on one check, they only need to have one ticket.
Takeover Night groups may not pass out tickets to guests who are arriving or who are already in the restaurant (this includes the parking lot and any BWW property in general); this is considered solicitation and it is prohibited. Any solicitation that occurs on Buffalo Wild Wings property will result in forfeiting of the donation from the Takeover Night.

PARCC Testing
PARCC Testing Begins March 9
Beginning March 9, Ball-Chatham students in grades 3-8, and high school students enrolled in Algebra II and English III will take the Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers (PARCC) tests. The PARCC replaces the Illinois Standards Achievement Test (ISAT) and the Prairie State Achievement Exam (PSAE). Students will complete assessments in the areas of math and English Language Arts. These assessments are fully aligned to the K-12 Illinois Learning Standards (Common Core) in English language arts and mathematics. The standards emphasize academic rigor, critical thinking, problem-solving, and college/career readiness for all students. Each school in the Ball-Chatham district has spent the last three years aligning curriculum to the Common Core. PARCC will be administered with paper and pencil in grades 3-4 and electronically (online) for grades 5-11.
Testing will take place between March 9 and 20 at the three elementary schools and between March 9 and April 3 at GIS, GMS and GHS. Students who miss any portion of the assessments will be assigned a make-up time within the testing window.
These State tests are lengthy - some can take nearly two hours to complete. You can help your child be prepared for the PARCC each day by making sure they get proper rest (at least 8 hrs.), eat breakfast (healthy and balanced), and remind them to stay calm and focused.
